The Mississippi SmokeLess States Alliance empowers community-driven
change by giving all citizens a voice in creating a healthier environment
where they work, live and play. Research shows that Mississippi
is ready for clean indoor policies. The 2001 Social Climate Survey
showed that among Mississippi adults.
Nearly two out of three believe that workplaces and restaurants
should be smoke-free.
82 percent believe that convenience stores should be smoke-free.
79 percent believe that shopping malls should be smoke-free.
How We Are Changing Mississippi
The Alliance will work with Mississippi's communities to create
voluntary smoke-free environments and, when needed, legislation
to ensure it. You can play a vital role in the success of both local
and statewide policy initiatives. For more information, please click
